This event is a celebration of dumplings and family. Poet Sean Wai Keung will guide participants through a recipe for dumpling skins, after which participants will be invited to fill them (a selection of three vegan fillings will be offered) and fold them however they wish. Throughout this, Sean will be reading poetry and telling the story of his maternal grandparents, and their story of food and migration.
This event will take place at The Drying Green; a community garden based at South West Library inviting people from all over Inverclyde to celebrate food, music and creativity.
Event Notes:
This event will take place outdoors under shelter in The Drying Green using the garden’s outdoor stove. Participants are advised to wear warm clothing. However, in the event of inclement weather this event will move inside the South West Library.
Use of gluten, manual hand dexterity needed for kneading and folding dumplings. Some content around grief and death.
