Site-specific performance company Oceanallover bring you their unique style of visual performance poetry to animate East India Harbour, Greenock with a story of waters and winds. As part of the Galoshans Street Party, ‘Sail Loft’ is the next chapter in their ‘Scales of the World’ series.
The great serpent has risen and water has swallowed the world. Two trees grow from the Northern and Southern poles, each offering a flower and hope for the future.
Clota, Celtic goddess of the Clyde, is woven into our story of dissolution and crystallization. The Clyde continues to be a symbol of strength, beauty and hope. During this visually captivating performance audiences are invited to consider mythology and history of the river as a rich source of pride and inspiration for all the communities along its banks. The Clyde rises in the Lowther Hills in Dumfries and Galloway, where Oceanallover are based, and runs out into the Firth of Clyde at Greenock. Clota links all of the communities along her watershed.
Expect otherworldy performance, live music and spellbinding costume alongside a spectacular 10-metre-tall tower installation on Greenock’s waterfront.
